Signeren

My reading list … I have 100’s of books to read, reread – Most of my books are at my beach house on Vancouver Island ?? finally . I carry a few with me and the rest are sprinkled around my son’s house in Malibu. Part of me feels like I’m with them – to see my books there. . Depending on my mood I will read Jung, Khalo or Nin for fun – but I read serious books on Art and politics. Historical biographies, psychology, mythology – Marie Louise Von Franz – fairy tales and Love – so many – I couldn’t possibly give a list- OK wait. I’ll try – How about – – 1) Hans Christian Andersen, "The Emperor's New Clothes", as children globally demand urgent action on climate change, this short tale still shows that children usually say the truth no one wants to hear – 2) Yanis Varoufakis, "Talking to my daugther about the economy", as the maverick Greek economist just entered Greek parliament, this book explains how did we end up in this mess, a true manual not only for children – 3) George Orwell, 1984, as hundred years later Orwell's dystopia turned into an instruction manual from Trump to Bolsonaro, it is more relevant than ever to understand the dangers of surveillance capitalism – 4) In defense of Julian Assange, edited by Tariq Ali and Margaret Kunstler, OR Books, 2019, as Julian Assange faces extradition to the United States, this is an important reader with texts by Noam Chomsky, Slavoj Žižek, Ai Weiwei, me and many others – -5) Srećko Horvat, "Poetry from the Future", Penguin, 2019 – Srećko my good friend writes how I think. I love his book ‘The Radicality of Love”. Love is a radical choice in this crazy world right now. You must be brave and not lazy – When we need to experience love more than ever. Empathy ❤️

Canada can lead the way on climate change… The #GreenParty is the party of Activists. A romantic struggle. Engage in the world Read a book. Walk in nature. Ask the earth what she needs from you. Talk to the trees. Put your hands on trees and ask- What do you need from me? listen … with all your heart. The answers are there, and with in us, around us if we are not distracted – (turn off the news) We can solve this by instinct. @younggreensofcanada

As a young naive adult , I first landed in Los Angeles during Gay Pride. It was such a different experience than what I’d grown up with in my tiny town on Vancouver Island… I remember calling home and telling my mom, “Not only do gay people exist, some even wear makeup and have the most fabulous wigs!” … (we’ve come a long way) My mom (being a glamorous woman) thought this sounded fantastic, and I immediately knew I had arrived ! I knew L.A. was somehow going to be my home …. and inspiration. I have always believed in owning who you are. Never compromise your truth. Never apologize for your sexuality. And never lose your love for humanity and each other. #pridemonth

“Love isn't something natural. Rather it requires discipline, concentration, patience, faith, and the overcoming of narcissism. It isn't a feeling, it is a practice.” – Erich Fromm

You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust nobody but yourself … is it really that important? – nobody is ? honest. Especially the ones accusing those of being untrustworthy. it’s human nature – iIts a practice to be open- to live – to not fear – let them lie. its a lonely and sad place otherwise -to think so much of ones self. I prefer to believe everything .. and everybody. Why not ? You know the truth and the rest is entertainment.
