Driving in Southern Norway in a nutshell? just suddenly saw this cabin in front of a huge waterfall and of course had to jump out of the car to snap couple of shots. Added some extra magic in Photoshop and voilà! •• Swipe left to see how I created this edit. I overexposed the sky in purpose while shooting because the sky was super boring. I do this A LOT of times because changing a sky when it’s mostly white is super easy and also your foreground has more light in it when overexposing. The magic of Petra at night. ? @conormccann found the perfect edge to stand on for this scene? I remember seeing images of this treasury couple years back when I didn’t have the possibility to travel yet and at the end of last year I finally got to wipe it off from my bucket list and it was such a magical feeling to see the place with my own eyes. We explored the area for couple of days, walking WAY too much and afterwards we were quite exhausted (anyone who has been there can probably relate haha?)

Golden sunsets in imaginary Dubai (SWIPE TO SEE THE PROGRESS)☀️ Creating something like this used to take me 6-9 hours. It was always an exciting but long journey to begin editing a piece because of not having any clue about what techniques work best and how to save time when editing. All of that started annoying me, I barely had time left for anything else during the day because I was always struggling to finish my concepts. I spent a really long time just trying to figure out all the techniques and shortcuts to create faster and maintain quality and I never wanted to keep this information for myself. I absolutely love sharing my skills to other people and couple of months ago I created a free photoshop training where you can get the skills you need in photoshop to save a lot of time. Go register through the link in my bio on your DESKTOP and begin/speed up your journey with Photoshop?

Who still remembers this rivendell edit? I was super excited to create a course about this shortly after releasing the edit for the first time and it is still available on my website. If you want to learn a whole compositing workflow from 0, I definitely recommend checking it out!

Swipe to see the progress? For me creating concepts like this means a lot nowadays. I don’t do it as often as I used to and everytime I do, I go through my photo archives to find objects to edit with and I am always reminded of how lucky I’ve been to have visited so many beautiful places and experienced incredible things around the ? ? #ps_whimsical

I didn’t want to write a really long caption about how amazing 2019 has been but I do want to say that I am very thankful to be in the situation I am in and I am feeling extremely relaxed and excited to start working again in 2020. Health and relationships have been more important for me the past couple of months and that’s why there has been a lot if inactivity here but the break has been more than incredible and it was much needed. – Here’s my favorite moments and work from this year: 1. Climbing the highest peak of Lofoten 2. Seeing the strongest northern lights in Senja. 3. Shooting the midnight sun with my girlfriend and climbing mountains in Lofoten. 4. Taking my favorite drone shot ever. Also in Lofoten. 5. Spending the most amazing few days at @auroravillage_ivalo 6. Started digital painting 7. Visited Iceland and took images of a waterfall during night time. 8. Moved away from home❤️ 9. Met my girlfriend and explored a lot of places together 10. Held a workshop with my ex mentor @bobvanbuul who had a massive positive impact overall in my life. – Happy upcoming new year everyone❤️ Stay healthy and always remind yourself about why you’re doing what you’re doing in life.

Right now hundreds of millions of people around the world visit stores to spend money on things they don't really need. – In my eyes black friday isn't, or hasn't really been about learning or about education. I always thought its more about wasting money on things you don't really need. – Usually I haven't done sales because of that, but this year there is a sale. I want to give you the chance for a cheaper and better education on skills you actually WANT and NEED to learn and that's why I am giving you the chance to invest in yourself this year. – We are discounting all of our products in store with a 40% OFF sale for couple of days. – Visit the brand new store that I just launched through the link in my bio OR go spend more money on some things you don't really need… the decision is yours. This is your chance to become a part of our supportive community of thousands of students.

This is what a perfect warming up break in freezing Finland would look like❄️ – The best part about using only images taken by myself in edits is that I can plan scenes in advance and shoot all the necessary parts for the idea I have in my head. The hardest part naturally is to take the images and get the right conditions to be able to even shoot the images but after that the editing itself becomes very easy. – For me it all starts from slowly gathering images and then when I finally have all the pieces for a project, the joy I get from building the concept is what drives me to continue doing this all the time? – The finished result always looks simple and something that could’ve been achieved in no time but in reality it might’ve required multiple visits to countries, Thousands of dollars spent, countless amount of sunrises and sleepless nights. – Photography is often not completely in your hands unlike editing. It’s more of a combination of skill and luck but editing is more about skill and that’s why editing the concept is just 10-20% of the process. – If you want to know my editing process and my mindset behind it, register for my 100% free photoshop training from the link in my bio to bring your photos to the next level!

Steps to natures perfection? I am still completely blown away by the amount of luck we had in Norway when we were able to shoot perfect spiraling northern lights. They are so nice to use in edits such as this to give some more character for the art piece.

One day I will spend weeks in Iceland and explore places that are hard to get to. I’ve felt the happiest on top of mountains, in places far far away from screens, far away from other people. There’s something so calming about reaching a destination through the unknown and witnessing the beauty of our earth in silence❤️

Todays project is quite a lot more complex than yesterdays. I got the idea for the edit when I visited Plitivice national park with @lifewithelliott in 2018 and we were ”slightly” late in terms of the blooming season. Everyhing was dead there and when I saw this path I knew I had to fill the image with something else because the path itself looked quite incredible. I ended up trying several different things but once I tried to mask my images from the rice fields in Bali into the project, I knew I found the right look. I stuck with them and got the idea for the mountains behind. I also happened to have a day sky with a cloud that looked sort of like an eagle and it fit perfectly to the project as well. Today’s project is quite old. It’s from the time I still used to create my art out of stock images. At the time I had not traveled at all and I was dreaming about being able to take images myself and create my art out of them. The idea for this edit came from my own feelings at the time. I felt like I am fighting against all odds with no one understanding my dreams and goals. The idea was that life continues even during bad times and you have to fight through hardships in life. I’ve said in multiple captions of mine that there are thousands of different huts and cabins in Finland which are completely free to use. I found this one online from a map that shows all the different huts and their locations with images in Finland and I thought this one had the coolest shape and it wasn’t too long of a hike to get there either. We sat down, grilled some marshmallows and started taking images and I absolutely love how the fireplace and candles lit up the inside of the hut? To take an image like this I had to take 6 exposures from the same spot and combine them in PS for to get a better dynamic range in shadows and highlights.

Throwback to the remote islands of Indonesia in the middle of the ocean. This was one of those photos on my hard drive that I had come across countless amounts of times but never got to actually editing it, call it a creative block of some sort. I think the main classic reason for the lack of editing certain photos has slways been related to the popularity of the place, I thought the process would be boring because I had seen the scene so many times but today I finally jumped on this particular image and fun editing it! I have hundreds of photos on my hard drives that I should edit but I feel it’s sometimes hard to make anything unique out of them but this will change in 2020..

Stoked to announce that after 1.5 years, I have finally started the recording of a new course. Getting an idea and the planning for a course can take quite a long time but I’ve never seen anything like this on the market yet and a lot of you will benefit from this course? – I will reveal what the course will be about within 1.5 weeks and in the meantime I am recording new lessons everyday! The new course will also be less expensive than my biggest course Photoshop for photographers and as I said already, I am so stoked to share this new course with all of you! What do you think it will be about?

I just arrvied back home last night after 17 hours of sitting in a car/train. I got an average of less than 6 hours of sleep during the trip and was reminded again about the reason why I stopped doing photography trips as often as I used to. – People who know me know that I am completely useless when I am tired. I forget things, I lose/break things easier and in general become way less responsive to everything. I hate that feeling and during times when I am working on a lot of projects, I try to sleep well. – – The trip was amazing and I have bunch of images and edits to share and can’t wait to go through all of that.- I will continue working on this new course tomorrow and I will also be revealing what this new course will be about and who it is for, but for now enjoy this artistic take on Cinque Terre.
