Stephen King keek IT twee keer en zag dat het goed was
Stephen King is ongeveer de God van horrorverhalen, het is dus wel handig dat hij het goed vindt als zijn verhaal wordt verfilmd. Hij zag de nieuwe versie van zijn kindje IT twee keer en hij vond het geweldig.
De recensies zijn sowieso lovend, maar dit is er eentje waar wij toch wel de meeste waarde aan hechten. “I had hopes, but I was not prepared for how good it really was”, vertelt King aan Bloody Disgusting. “It’s something that’s different and, at the same time, it’s something that audiences are gonna relate to. They’re gonna like the characters.”
“To me, it’s all about character. If you like the characters… if you care… the scares generally work. I’m sure my fans will enjoy the movie. And I think some of them will go back two or three times and actually savour the thing. I went back and saw it a second time, and I felt I was seeing things the second time through that I missed the first time.”
Volgens mij hebben we een schrijver nog nooit zo enthousiast gezien over zijn boekverfilming. King is sowieso fan van regisseur Andy Muschietti, wie weet kunnen we dus nog meer Stephen King-films van hem verwachten. Vanaf 7 september kunnen we zelf oordelen over de film, dan draait hij namelijk ook in Nederland in de bioscoop.
